The Richards Bay LPG import facility operates as a major storage and distribution hub for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in South Africa. Here’s how it functions:
• Import & Storage: LPG is imported via Petredec Gas Carriers and stored in four mounded tanks, each holding over 5,500 metric tonnes of gas.
• Distribution: The facility has dedicated 24-hour road tanker and railcar loading stations, ensuring continuous supply across South Africa and neighboring countries.
• Seaborne Re-exports: It also facilitates LPG exports to regional markets, helping stabilize supply and reduce costs.
• Safety & Compliance: The facility adheres to strict safety standards, ensuring secure handling and storage of LPG.
